Snoop Dogg Becomes Snoop Lion, Releases Reggae Single

He was born Calvin Broadus, Jr, then became a rapper under the name Snoop Doggy Dogg. He dropped the “Doggy” from his name to simply become Snoop Dogg in 1998.

Now the rapper has crossed into the Reggae genre and has renamed himself yet again. He is releasing his new single “La La La” under the name “Snoop Lion.”

Meanwhile, Snoop Lion was detained at the border of Norway recently for trying to enter with eight grammes of marijuana. The star was soon caught by sniffer dogs and was issued a fine on the spot.

Guess he’s really getting into the laid back reggae vibe?

Drake Feels That Y.O.L.O Album Might Need Renaming

What was originally just an iTunes bonus song on rapper Drake’s album “Take Care” ended up one of the artist’s most popular singles. The song “The Motto”, featuring Lil Wayne, hit #1 on the Billboard Rap Charts and popularized the phrase “Y.O.L.O” or “You Only Life Once”.

Now that Drake is releasing a joint album with Rick Ross which was slated to be entitled “Y.O.L.O” he is considering renaming the album to distinguish it from the buzz that has been created by the single.

In an interview with MTV’s Sway Calloway, the rapper said, “That title has become so … it’s like an epidemic. So I hope by the time we finish it, it would still hold weight and substance. We might have to call it something different now.”
