Sainsbury’s Renames Tiger Bread At Request of Three Year Old

The UK Supermarket Sainbury’s has renamed their distinctive “Tiger Bread” after a three year old toddler wrote a letter to the company informing them that the bread looked much more like a giraffe.┬áThe pattern in the bread is baked onto its surface using rice paste, which cracks and dries after it has been in the kiln.
The adorable letter from Lily Robinson, which also featured a drawing of her imaginary dog “Beaky” at the bottom, went viral on social media networks and even inspired its own Facebook page.
Little Lily received a letter from the customer manager of Sainsbury’s, Chris King. He said:
“I think renaming tiger bread giraffe bread is a brilliant idea – it looks much more like the blotches on a giraffe than the stripes on a tiger, doesn’t it? It is called tiger bread because the first baker who made it a looong time ago thought it looked stripey like a tiger. Maybe they were a bit silly.”
He also attached a gift card so that Lily could buy loaf of “giraffe bread” and a few sweets too, if her parents said it was OK.
