Bobby Moore Cup Renamed, Bobby’s Widow Upset

Stephanie Moore, widow of the late Bobby Moore, was shocked last month when she found out that West Ham Football Club would be renaming the Bobby Moore Cup, a charity game in honour of her late husband who was the club’s legendary former captain. Bobby died of Bowel Cancer in 1993 and £1 of every ticket sold for the game went to Cancer Research UK.

The match will now be known as the SBOBet Cup, after an online betting agency. Angry fans are petitioning to take back the original name, however West Ham have promised to still contribute to the Bobby Moore Fund, and SBOBet have offered to donate £10,000 to cancer research.
