Austrian Village With Offensive Name Votes on Name Change

A small Austrian village was once named after Focko, a 6th Century Bavarian nobleman, and the modern spelling of “F*cking” was adopted in the 18th Century.

All 104 residents of the Upper Austrian town near the German border are set to vote later this week to rename themselves something less… crude. They are considering changing the name to “Fugging” instead.

Local residents have grown tired of tourists constantly laughing at their name and stealing town signs. At least 13 of the road signs in the village have been stolen. Many tourists have also posed naked in front of the village sign for a humorous photograph.
